The issue is complex and depression for patients and relatives often difficult to understand. are in the appendix also work aids, such as copy templates for a daily log that documents the moods.

This guide can be used very well as an introduction to the topic, a summary of a (concomitant therapy) study guide.

The best introduction for patients and their families!
Prof. Dr. Martin Hautzinger worked as a university professor and head of the department of clinical psychology and developmental psychology at the University of Tübingen.
He is a recognized expert in the topic of depression and has many research exhibit competence and practice. It is gratifying that a short and small book has come out about depression, to enable all the important information on this complex issue receives, and yet really well suited as a short and comprehensive information for patients and their families is. a situation as complex as depression is trying to stifle even intelligible to 70 pages a great challenge that is well done. Even a naïve licked reader finds the subject intelligible the really important information about depression.
On 12 pages the reader will find an introduction to the question "Depression - What is it?"
The next 12 Sites are under the question "What causes depression and why they go away by themselves?"
The following 26 pages or under the question:?. "What can be done about depression treatment options for depression
by the end, a page of recommended reading, and five pages of worksheets that help in assessing and dealing with depression.
Even a differentiation between the "major depressive episode", the dysthymia (technical terminology Dysthymia), and the "manic episode" is found. Thus the reader learns that there are important differences in depression.

Overall, this book extremely helpful is better in so short a form not known to me. However, I wanted a more nuanced picture in the question of possible meaningful therapies. Hautzinger describes here alone, cognitive behavior therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. From the perspective of the university professor, this may be perfectly understandable. From the depths of real reality with people with acute depression, there are indeed other therapeutic approaches in the field of systemic therapy, transactional analysis and Gestalt therapy are not even being mentioned. This is unfortunate from a scientific point of view, but understandable. But Mr. Hautzinger, it is more that can help here to described as because of you!

But is this question important, but ultimately academic, in a revision, it would be helpful to consider newer alternatives for the treatment! At 70 pages, I think to this day no book that can compete in understanding, conciseness and clarity with this book. Therefore, there is of course by me five stars! Highly Recommended! 5 guide members better than for patients

This book explains the history and symptoms. If you're suffering yourself, you know it. It is so hard for me to explain my environment as I feel. Because we know itself is not why it is so.
This book gives the people around you a few tips and perhaps explaining why we sometimes behave so "funny". 5
