If the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks
have seen, you may have wondered how you feel in that situation - act - alone on an uninhabited island should have. The answer comes from the Orbis Verlag- The Big Book of survival techniques
- deals with survival in extreme situations, the survival in nature and the survival of civilization. Any kind of situations can occur in a human are indicated here, and there are a lot of tips and advice on how to behave. For example, the adventurous traveler a guide is added to the water extraction or he learns how to get a suitable bad weather shelter building. For all that the many hazardous situations can not imagine it right, there is plenty of sketch material. Even topics such as self-defense and finding a car bomb are not dropped. However be addressed in the book rich in sketchy so many areas, that it would probably take an adventurer with an expedition because it a format similar to large and with over 500 pages is too thick to carry easily. Here, the driving, seems really compelling necessity - or how else can you get in an emergency with the German alphabet Winker help? What would have been in the range of subjects, however, urgently needed is a register which would facilitate the identification of individual subjects, but it unfortunately does not have author and publisher thought. All who want to find out what they have got to do on a deserted island to survive, are adequately supplied.

customer reviews content very comprehensive
Buzek really describes all possible situations for possible action. Who can translate this book really, which is likely to happen even after surviving a plane crash in the deepest wilderness any more. The range for self-defense and survival strategies in a large city, such as shaking off pursuers vehicles I think something too far. For this chapter, a node would certainly have been more appropriate. Is not what I mean by the word "survival". This area is dealt with excellently. Why I forgave "only" four stars, the bad illustrations. Hand painted pictures in kindergarten quality are not what one today from a "textbook" expects (para) military is breathed, but highly recommended
to me the book - after a first, quick browsing - a very sound, extremely large impression made. However, in the treatment of the subject is a certain "(para) military" connotation avoid some not. No wonder when you know that the author was a member of the Austrian army (I know, Colonel retired).
Many of the chapters in this book here therefore to "tough" survival situations. There are, therefore, issues such as use of firearms, unarmed combat, knife fighting, how to handle Vefolgungsjagdn or hostage taking, etc. treated. For those who expect a "classic" survival book with the touch of a civilization-weary campfire will arise here are some surprises. For those that contain the term "survival" as a whole do understand, this is an indispensable reference work. A drawback is the large number of pages and the resulting thickness of the book. "Take that simple" you can browse through the wilderness will not exist. Although you probably also an angry grizzly bear could kill, who knows ...?
The Bible
This work is really a big chunk. It includes more than 500 pages - too thick for the rucksack of a Bundeswehr soldier or an extreme globetrotter (unfortunately for the memory). The Bible
Who here believes in survival techniques would only survive the fall in the wilderness, is wrong. Persecution driving, hostage taking, shooting, self defense and other extreme situations are mentioned and their solutions are often a military support, from simple sketches, brought closer. Some sections can therefore in a study of Book with background nichtmilitärischem skip. Damage can this knowledge, however.
